Indiana Senate Considers Hemp Oil Initiative
The Indiana Senate has recently received Senate Bill No. 15 submitted by Republican Senators Blake Doriot and James Tomes. The initiative contains a request to create a hemp oil registry. This pilot registry will allow caregivers, physicians, and individuals to possess and use hemp oil for use in research and treatment of intractable epileptic seizures.

DEA Says CBD Oil Is Schedule I Substance. What's Next?
Last week, DEA released a Federal Register that included, among other things, a new Administration Controlled Substances Code Number for what they call ‘‘marihuana extract.’’ According to DEA, the main reason for inventing the new code was to make it easier for the agency to track this type of substances, alongside with “marihuana” and “tetrahydrocannabinols.”

Texas Will Ease Its Laws on CBD Oil
Four Texas pharmacies can now stay within the law after the Department of Public Safety announced that it would not prosecute any institutions for dealing with CBD oil. Texas has some of the strictest medical marijuana laws in the U.S. However, the faulty wording in the law caused some confusion among growers and suppliers.

Alabama Legalizes Medical CBD Oil
On May 4, the Governor of Alabama Robert Bentley signed a bill that allows medical marijuana oil in the state. The law goes into effect on June 1; and the new piece of legislation decriminalizes possession of cannabidiol that was produced in other states.
